In December 2008 I had the great pleasure to spend a few days with Pai VU2PAI in Mangalore. We managed to do a bit of sightseeing, try some of the delicious local sea food, and most importantly working some good pile ups.
Thanks to Pai and the other local hams of Mangalore for the great hospitality.
As I ended up in Istanbul during the last weekend of November I was happy to be invited to be a part of the YM3A team who was setting up for a M/2 operation near the city of Bandirma. The team consisted of LZ1NK, LZ1CNN, LZ1WX, LZ1UK, LZ2UW, TA2TX, DF4SA and myself. During the contest we had a total of 8 hours of power outages. A leason was learned to bring a generator for the next operation in Turkey. We finished with 7000 QSOs and 11.5 million points.
Thanks to the Spiderbeam Team for a great time in the Turkish country side!

Comments:
Tricky call to get across - many might still think they worked Panama. Otherwise the contest turned out as a fine EU QSO party including a US run Saturday night on 40 and another one Sunday afternoon on 20.
Thanks for calling in and thanks to OZ7YY for the use of the station!

Another great contest from the OZ7YY QTH! This year I teamed up with Igor RZ9OU for a MOST entry in Russian DX Contest. Happy to finish with 2363 QSOs, averaging nearly 100 QSOs/hour during the 24 hours.
